US Open attire, Gold Medal, Wild Card

So the men at the U.S. Open need to step their wardrobe game up A.S.A.P.! They are all wearing the same thing. How tacky! The other day Donald Young had on the exact same shirt as the guy who eliminated him. This kid Isner who would eventually be eliminated by Roger Federer also had on that same shirt. The shirt wasn't even that hot! James Blake had on the same shirt as the dude he was playing also. It's getting ridiculous. I know Nike makes more than 2 shirts. Roger Federer is probably the only one who can get Nike to design something specifically for him, but the other dudes need to look into it. Federer had on this all black get up the other night, it was mean. He had on shorts that looked like tuxedo pants, and he accessorized with a shiny bag. Now the bag was a bit much for a man, but he's Roger Federer so he can do whatever the hell he wants! Anyway, Maria Sharapova got eliminated yesterday by some teenager. That sucks for her, but her little red dress was adorable. Venus and Serena seem destined to play each other in the semis. Serena's dress makes her look pregnant, but the announcers love it. Venus has her own clothing line so she's been able to show a lot of variety in her wardrobe. She's holding her own.
Team USA won the gold medal at the FIBA Americas games or whatever the hell its called. If Kobe is on the team they'll definitely bring home the gold medal from Beijing.
Yankees lost, Sux won. They had some rookie pitcher throw a no-hitter last night. Good for him. The good news for us is that the Mariners are on a 9 game losing streak. We have a 2 game lead in the wild card, hopefully we'll hold on!

Co Co, don't fall into the Kobe trap, Miss Lady. We need to get this team on point everywhere (3 point defense, lane defense, more driving to get easy buckets)before we go golden. The tournament teams we played were horrid, but the Olympics have some European roughnecks we CAN NOT take lightly. We'll see.

Eboy I agree with you about the flaws on this team and there are plenty. We happened to be on fire throughout the tournament, but what about when the jumpers stop falling? They are going to be in trouble because we didn't display any type of low post game and it was also way too easy for those lil dudes to score in the paint. However, I do believe that Kobe's overall will to win will ultimately be the difference. He needs that gold medal because at the rate the Lakers are moving in, it will be the only substantial hardware of any type for a minute.

Co Co, that's the same reason I think we will have problems in the Olympics. If there is a close game or two in the games, Kobe's desire to shine the brighest could also be our ultimate failing point. He does not have the same "game control" like Kidd or Lebron, and his only option is to shoot contested shots or force the action into his strengths. The teams we'll be playing will be ready for it. They all play that "gang" defense type of game. Kobe needs to be part of the team for us to be succesful, not the focal point. If he freelances, we'll have a free pass back to the airport to return home, medal-less.

Now, now Eboy I have no doubt Kobe will play within the team, but he'll take over when its necessary and there won't be a damn thing anyone can do about it. the Olympic Kobe and the Laker Kobe are two totally different people. He has very few, and by very few I mean NO reliable options on the Lakers teams. I'd rather see him take on all 5 guys than let Kwame shoot a wide open layup (which he's prone to miss) Kobe will stay within the system in the Olympics but if it comes down to winning or losing the game, he's our best option.
