Well, the 2008 portion of the 2008-2009 season is over for the Atlanta Hawks and I don't think we could have asked for a better start than 21-10. I mean, we could have, but that would have just been greedy.
These are happy times for Hawks fans so I'm not even going to nitpick today. I hope everyone has a splendid New Year and hopefully we'll pick up in 2009 right where we left off in 2008.
Although I hope sometime between now and the New Year Coach Woodson finds some minutes for Acie Law (without Flip alongside him). WE just want to know if he's capable.

CoCo,
I think Woodson woke up yesterday and said, "Dang. That Acie Law is one fine young player. I think I'll invite him over for pancakes and lay out my master plan for his growth and development."
Then again, I never thought Shaq would leave Orlando and that JR Rider was one misunderstood dude.
So, bottom line, Acie is probably screwed.
But hey, Happy New Year!
Woodson's New Year's resolutions:
1. Bench everyone until halftime after their FIRST foul.
2. Figure out how to get Flip Murray to play every position on the floor during a game.
3. Try out a new strategy: the one-possession per half basketball game (involves longer and longer rebounds in an "inverted weave" half court set: instead of passing to move closer to the basket, try this: dribble, shoot, rebound; dribble back, shoot, rebound; dribble back more, shoot, rebound).
4. Consult Dean Smith on how best to pull off #3 with a shot clock.
5. Talk more about playing the right way.
6. Find out what Larry Brown is doing in Charlotte. Do that.
